Ronald Reagan is Your God
Created as part of celebrating their birthday, dAVE wrote and recorded each of these songs in a single day. Every song was created solely on a Roland SP404 mk2 with a variety of instruments and dAVE's own voice.
The performance of each track was improvised and recorded down on the SP404 mk2 before being mastered by dAVE. Outside of the mastering process the entire record was created outside of any computer and used hardware devices or instruments only.
The purpose of this record was to focus on creation without getting caught up in the tiny details of music making that can often derail a project into never getting completed.
The title of the record ( a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference) comes from dAVE turning 42 on this birthday and a text a friend sent to say happy birthday and how now dAVE gets to know the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. As it turns out, it really is just about always having a towel. The song titles are all from dAVE's long list of thing his daughter has said or inspired.
